Product Concept Development

We take a pragmatic approach towards designing and conceptualising software solutions.

Innovative product concepts, and solution development, begin their life as an identified problem.  Our involvement begins when an organisation identifies the problem, recognises the need to find and implement a solution and contacts us for a discussion.

Software Solutions for Enterprise Problems

For most traditional industries and organisations, software applications are essentially workflow enablers and information systems; and are not a core aspect of their primary competencies.  Depending on the complexity of the identified problem and the size of the organisation in question, organisations usually have the following options:

  • build the solution in-house by tasking its in-house I.T. department
  • select software vendors and commission a solution with the selected application development team
  • select and leverage on an existing SaaS-based solution that solves the identified Enterprise Problem

Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages and has its own inherent minefield.  It is critical to identify the high level complexities of the problem domain and the low level design and execution implications at the onset.  Correctly identifying these issues will lead the organisations to choose the right option and avoid I.T. project disasters.

How We Operate

Our project consultants are available for two 2-hour project evaluation, on request.  A simple proposal will be provided thereafter, with a general list of recommendations derived from the consultation.

Clients who seek detailed discussions thereafter can retain a consultant on a daily rated consultation process, which will derive a more detailed list of recommendations, leading to a final Product Concept and a proposed Execution Approach.  Recommendations could include commissioning a custom AGILE application development, equipping in-house I.T. staff with the necessary know-how to execute the solution development or, simply, using an outsourced SaaS-based Web Service.

Benefits

For most organisations that do not have in-depth, professional I.T. competencies, it often important to have a 3rd party, professional perspective on their identified problems.

By thinking through the Problem-Solution space and reviewing it with our Consultants, organisations will then be aware of all the options available to them before making an intelligent, informed decision on solution implementation.
